Ms. Patricia A. (Bails) McCoard, a resident of the Martin D. Popky B'nai B'rith Apartments, Wilkes-Barre, passed into glory unexpectedly during a dialysis treatment Tuesday, the afternoon of March 12th.

Born on Sunday, March 4, 1945 in Jersey City, New Jersey, Ms. McCoard just celebrated her seventy-ninth birthday a week prior to her passing.

She was one of four children to the late Charles and Connie (Garry) Bails.  Educated in the Jersey City, N.J. schools, she was a 1963 graduate of the William L. Dickenson High School, Jersey City.

Ms. McCoard served some thirty-five years in the psychiatric medical field.  She began her tenure in 1965 working as a clerk for the Hudson County Meadowview Hospital in Secaucus, New Jersey.  She eventually worked her way to Certified Nurses Aid at the time of her formal retirement in 2000.

In her spare time, she loved to crochet various items for family and friends.

Locally, Ms. McCoard held membership in Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Wilkes-Barre.

Above all, she is remembered as being a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her adoring family.  Her presence will be greatly missed by all those she touched in this life.

Patricia was preceded in death by her daughter, Ms. Ethel McCloud.

Left to cherish her memory are grandchildren including her caregiver, Miss Nia M. Pettiford of Old Forge and Mr. Kenneth McCloud of Plymouth.  A host of great-grandchildren including her other caregiver, Nia's daughter; Danielle McCloud of Warrior Run;  Two sisters; one brother; numerous nieces, nephews, fellow congregants and dear friends.

Funeral services for Ms. McCoard will be held privately and at the convenience of her family with interment in Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, New Jersey.
