It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved
husband, father and friend, Mr. Liam Patrick Casey.
Liam passed peacefully and most unexpectedly Tuesday, February 17th at his
residence in Lebanon. Born on Sunday, October 15, 1967 in Wilkes-Barre, he was
fifty-eight years old; being the youngest of four children to the late James Sr. and Mary
Susan (O'Donnell) Casey.
Educated at St. Aloysius Elementary School, he was a 1985 graduate of the former
Bishop Hoban High School. He later furthered his education by attaining a Bachelor
Degree in History and Secondary Education from Wilkes University.
Liam built a successful career as a Regional Field Reimbursement Manager in the
pharmaceutical industry, where he was employed by Cencora Pharmaceuticals in
Lebanon.
His commitment to his work was only rivaled by the passionate support he provided
for his four daughters: Madeline, Chloe, Rowan and Kara. He adored being their father,
fiercely loving, protecting and encouraging them in all their pursuits, and glowing in their
accomplishments.
Those who knew Liam knew about his pride and joy in his daughters. He found
happiness in coaching them in softball, helping them to become yard-sale experts,
taking them since childhood to Hershey Bears hockey games, instilling his love of
comics through them and supporting and guiding them through any adversities.
Proud of his family's Irish heritage, Liam was a dedicated member of the Berks
County Irish Association for several years, sharing his ethnic enthusiasm with family
and friends, whether they wanted to hear it or not.
He and his wife, the former Dr. Maura (Gribble) Casey, celebrated thirty-one years of
married life together on May 21st of last year. Maura will dearly miss his unique sense
of humor, which included an endless assortment of dad jokes.
Besides his parents, he bid farewell to his only sister, Mary Colleen Casey, who also
passed away suddenly on February 1st 2008 at the age of 45.
Left to cherish all the wonderful memories they now keep of him in addition to his
wife Maura and their daughters Madeline, Chloe, Rowan and Kara, all at home, are his
brothers Thomas Casey of Bear Creek and James Casey Jr. of Ashley; Several aunts,
uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Per his previous request, funeral services for Liam will be held privately and at the
convenience of his family with no formal visitation. There will be a Celebration of Life
dedicated to him in the summer. During this time of reflection, the family asks that you
hold them in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this profound loss.
Liam will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved
him.
Relatives and friends wishing to share online words of comfort or a fond memory of
Liam with Maura and their daughters are encouraged to do so here on his memorial
page. Thank You.
