Marion Novick Obituary

Announcing sadly the passing of a beloved mother, grandmother and friend. Mrs. Marion D. (Diamonds) Novick, 95, passed into eternal life peacefully early the morning of Saturday, February 7th while in the care of Kadima Rehabilitation and Nursing at Lakeside in Dallas.

Born on Thursday, May 29, 1930 in Wilkes-Barre, she was one of eleven children to the late Sol and Nellie (Dwilinski) Diamonds. Educated in the city schools, Mrs. Novick was a 1948 graduate of the former Grand Army of the Republic Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre.

Devoted to her Roman Catholic faith, she grew up learning her religious catechism by attending Mass and holding membership in the former Holy Trinity Parish of Wilkes-Barre.

In her youth, Mrs. Novick worked in the area's local garment industry.

A few years following her education, she would marry her beloved husband, Mr. Vincent J. Novick Sr. in 1950 and share some forty-three years of married life together with him until his passing in 1993.

The couple called at least seven of our fifty states home temporarily due to Mr. Novick's profession. Of those they lived in were; New Jersey, Illinois, Pennsylvania, California, Virginia, Maine and North Carolina. It was during the couple's tenure in Virginia Beach, Virginia that she became a well known and loved employee of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, a position she held for over twenty years.

Fraternally, Mrs. Novick was a former member of the Sodality at Holy Trinity Parish. In their spare time, she and her husband loved to go bowling. She also excelled as the family baker; enjoyed canning her annual harvests and crocheting for relatives and friends. Above all, Mrs. Novick is best remembered by her family as being a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose presence will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. May she now rest peacefully in the arms of her Lord and Savior.

In addition to her husband, Mr. Vincent J. Novick Sr. who passed on October 29th, 1993, she also bid farewell to siblings; including two infant sisters, Anna and Joanne; brothers, Mr. Albert Diamonds and Mr. John (Jack) Diamonds and Mr. Robert Diamonds; along with sisters, Mrs. Theresa Shalkauskas, Mrs. Irene Heider along with Mrs. Rita Burford; and most recently by a daughter, Mrs. JoAnn Marie Liebgott on August 20, 2021.

Left to cherish all the wonderful memories they now keep of their mother are her children; Vincent J. Novick Jr. and his wife Adrienne of Downers Grove, Ill,; Kathleen McDonald of Oxford, N.C.; Terese Dickerson and her husband Paul of also Oxford, N.C.; Son-in-law, James Liebgott, of Florida; Ten grandchildren: ten great-grandchildren; Sisters, Mrs. Aldona Oblick of Bethlehem, PA and Mrs. Lillian Sheehan of Snoqualmie, WA. Numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Novick will be conducted on Saturday, February 28th with her funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Gate of Heaven Parish, 40 Machell Avenue, Dallas. The Reverend Father Andrew S. Hvozdovic, pastor, will serve as celebrant and homilist.

Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in the family lot of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Cemetery, PA Route #115, Bear Creek Township.

Relatives and friends may join Mrs. Novick's family for visitation and shared memories directly at church Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
